Coffee Date

Today, I'm linking up with Casey over at The Wiegand's. This is my first time on linking up with this post of hers so I don't know if you're supposed to write a different type of post or like what she has, so I'm going with like what she has.

Coffee Date...

If you came to my house right now for a coffee date I would invite you in and you would instantly be greeted by my two dogs, Optimus and Janie.

I would tell you that we have been working on their greeting methods lately, but they still get VERY excited while meeting new people.

I would ask if you wanted coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or caffeine free pepsi. I would drink water. I have been trying to eat and drink healthier lately because of the baby.

I would ask you how things are going with you. How is your walk with Jesus going?

I would tell you that Jacob and I have seen so little of each other that we've been having mini bible study sessions through notes. He's always so sweet in the note and then he gives us a passage and talks about it.

I would tell you that the baby is growing and how weird I've felt lately. I was so sick for a while and now that the sickness has passed, I almost don't feel pregnant.

I would tell you that I have been thinking about the moment that I get to meet my child for the first time brings me to tears every time I think about it.

I would ask you if you were comfortable. Our house is old and it tends to get really warm and really cold. Need a blanket?

I would tell you that I'm going to start decorating for Christmas on Saturday. When are you decorating? Have you gotten all of your shopping done?

I haven't finished my shopping. And as per usual money is a little tight around here this year, and I want to bless everyone with an amazing gift. I will most likely save money by making a few creative gifts.

I would tell you my fears. I don't know how good of a mother I will be. I don't know what we're doing about daycare. We can barely take care of ourselves, how are we supposed to take care of a baby?

I would finish with a prayer for faith. What can I pray for you about?

I enjoyed our time. See you soon.

Sweet Little Photo Swap- "This is my city"

This is my city- Oklahoma City
This is the newest building downtown, the tallest in our little city.

The downtown memorial of the Murrah Bombing. So sad and so beautiful.

Just a fountain. :)

Cheeseball.

This is the Skirvin Hotel. It's haunted, seriously; ask the New York Knicks. :D

Sweet Little Photo Swap- "Old Photography Class Photos"

Long ago-- well, not that long ago-- I was in a basic photography class. I decided that I would be soo cool and creative with my pictures. I understand they weren't that great, but hey, it was BASIC photography... and I had a ton of fun.

Here are some of the more interesting ones:
I miss my long(er) hair.

I think my feet are by far the ugliest ones on the planet. You know what though, they're the only ones I get. :)

Interesting perspective.

Okay, so I know it's a little emo, but this was supposed to represent the comments I was getting about being too young to be married. ;)

Sweet Little Photo Swap- "Zoo Day"

We went to the zoo for my best friend's birthday.

And this is my best friend, Ashley. :)

I am really not a huge fan of fish, but they looked the best in the pics. :P

See, they have such colorful homes.

This one looks like goosebumps. lol...

Now, meerkats, they're stinkin' cool.

My Love.

I HAD to get a squished penny.

By the end of the day my dogs were barkin' (that means my feet hurt).

Sweet Little Photo Swap- "Me-Time Monday"

Today is "Me-Time Monday". This is my schedule for the day.
10:00-10:50- class
11:00- "deadline day" at work.
2:00- Let the dogs out and do a couple of things around the house.
3:00-5:00- WHATEVER I WANT! I chose to come to starbucks, catch up on some blog reading, and read a little.

I'm pretty easy to please. Besides the necessities, I run off coffee and my computer. Ask my husband, I'm an addict to all things caffeinated and hard-drive oriented.

I have a confession-- I have had a big gulp's amount of coffee today. :-|

This is what I'm reading at the moment. It's a book written by my advisor at the newspaper and his father. So far it's really good! I will let you know when I finish it.

This is me enjoying this day! It's normally 104 degrees, today it's 98 degrees, and it feels like heaven!
That's pretty sad when you think 98 degrees is PURE BLISS!

Sweet Little Photo Swap- My last first day of school, EVER!

Well it's my senior year in college. Graduation is so close, I can taste it! I just thought I would document my last first day of school. :-D
Here it is folks, The University of Central Oklahoma. (The backside of campus). I arrived here 30 minutes early just in case I can't find my class. Yes, I'm a senior and I still show up early in case I get lost.

This is where I work. The UCentral Newsroom. Pretty huh? All of those beautiful Macs make my heart swell. :)
This edition of the paper was 32 pages (4times our normal size). It's pretty much the reason why I'm sick and stressed. But man seeing this monster was the highlight of my day.

We have 5,000 copies to give to the students.

Well if you don't know this already, it's HOT here! Hotter than Satan's farts! So I started the day looking all cute and stuff and by the end of it I was sweating like a hooker in church. Top is the morning, and bottom is the afternoon.

Oh, and I went to class too. But I will spare the details of that fun stuff.

The Power of Advertising

We all can hate the word "Advertising" as much as we want... that won't stop you from being exposed to it. If you think about it, everything you own has come from some form of recommendation that is advertising.

Examples:
We bought our furniture from (enter local furniture store here) because we heard they were having a sale.
How did you hear they were having a sale? Commercial? Sign outside of the store? A friend told you about it? All of these are forms of advertising.

I'm an advertising major, marketing minor at school. Let me tell you the four main themes I see in nearly every ad class I have.

1)Find your target market/audience.
These are the people that have a need or a want to use your product or service. Example: If I sold a bow for a child, my target audience is those who want a bow for their daughter/niece/whatever. Not only do they have to want it, they have to have the abilities to buy it (i.e. MONEY HONEY!).

2) After you've found your target audience, find out what communication style works best for them.
Example: If I were selling cute bows for little girls do you think the ladies wanting these bows would rather see a cute picture of the bow, or a detailed graph on why your child should wear a bow? Probably a picture> Am I right?

3) After you decide how you are going to communicate your message, you have got to find where your target audience/market congregates.
Example: Back to the bow idea, do you think that the ladies (assuming ladies are our target market) would congregate at an outdoor sports facility? Or possibly at the mall? (Sorry women, but this is where most of us congregate, we are the primary decision-makers when it comes to buying clothing. > Am I right?)

4) And Finally, tell your audience what you want to tell them. This comes back to communication. Example: Bow idea; I want my audience to know that I have the most adorable little bows for sale, at a lower price than my competitors. That's most likely what I'm going to want in my ad. >Am I right??

So why am I rambling on about this? I've entered a giveaway for free ad sponsorship from http://livinginyellow.blogspot.com/2011/08/click-here-to-win-sponsor-giveaway.html

I really want to change the negative image that people have about advertising. We all use it, we're all exposed to it, now it's time to really think about what it can do for your life.
>Am I right?

I hope this doesn't sound horrible. If anything else, you can use this information to avoid advertisements!

But if you want to enter the giveaway too, visit it here:

Tree Through The Window

I'm from Oklahoma. We've been having 40+ days above 100 degrees and with no rain

This week it rained. This week it STORMED!

We've been in one of the worst droughts since the depression era, so storms are welcome.

But with storms comes damage, inevitably.

One of the storms from this week had what they call "straight winds". These are damaging winds without it being a tornado. The winds were 90+ mph. FUN STUFF. (Sarcasm)

Peoples roofs were ripped off, trampolines were flung into other yards, and trees were ripped from the roots and blown over.

My best friend lives in a duplex not far from where the worst of the storm damage occurred.

She had 3-4 trees in her front yard, about 15 feet away from her bedroom window

At 4 a.m. the worst of the storm began howling at her window.

She began to pray

For safety.

She heard the first tree snap, and then the next.

It was God's loving protection keeping her safe that night.

The trees in her yard could've fell the opposite direction and be in her bedroom right now.

But that didn't happen.

Our God is a mighty God.

Sometimes it takes a tree NOT going through your window to see that.

Here's some pics:

Sincerely,
Kylee

Sunday Funday- Sweet Little Photo Swap!

This is my very first photo swap, as well as a link up. I hope I'm doing this right!

Sorry the quality of this pic is horrible. I like it because of Jacob's face.  He's so silly and I love that about him.

Oh Opti. He got his bath. He always goes crazy right after, but he sure looked like a doggy model when I took this.
He makes my heart melt!
I went into a lifestyle change recently. I want to be able to look at this picture and my mouth not water. I will let you know when that actually happens. :)

This is my favorite picture of the week. Nik is our best friend. Janie LOVES him.  I love this picture because Nik's face. He's hilarious!

My sweet niece. I love this picture because it's as natural as it gets. I wish everyone knew her personality, she's sincerely the most unique child I have ever known.

Sincerely,
Kylee
