Jeremiah 29:11,13

I saw this on Eisy Morgan today, and I thought I just had to copy.

EMOTIONAL

  • Is there anyone whose forgiveness you need to seek?
  • -- My hubs comes to mind. He's been so supportive through everything I've tried to do this past year. I know that I can answer his support better this year. I'm going to work on supporting him and trusting him no matter what.

  • Is there anyone you need to forgive?
  • -- I battled with this a lot in 2011. I feel like the ghosts of my past are subdued, but they seem to creep up. So as of now, there is just one person I need to forgive. So, right now, it's worth more to let it go than to hang on to it. This year doesn't need more weight to carry around and lose.

  • Where is the clutter in my life?
  • -- The clutter is all around me. Jacob and I are working on so much at once. We're saving, going to school, finding work, living with his brother, looking for a house to live in, and trying to keep our marriage afloat.

  • What caused me the most stress in 2011? How am I going to fix that in 2012?
  • --Our living situation and our finances caused me the most stress in 2011. But we've recently changed the way we are budgeting (Jacob is now in total control, the way it should be). We are going to move to our own home this year. I can't wait!!

SPIRITUAL

  • Am I closer to God today than January 1?
  • -- I feel like I'm about a tiny step closer, by the end of the day I've taken a little baby step back.

  • What‟s my spiritual growth process for 2012?
  • -- Jacob and I are in need of reform in our process.

  • Have you scheduled your times with God for January? All of 2012?
  • -- Yes.

RELATIONAL

  • Would you rate your marriage a 10? Would your spouse (you might want to ask over a nice dinner)? If it‟s not a 10 ask this question “What would it take in 2012 to make it a 10?”
  • -- It's not a 10. We aren't satisfied with mediocre. We are always in "improve mode".

  • Same question for each of your kids?
  • -- I don't have kids. I want them... but don't have them... yet!

  • Have you scheduled your date nights for January?
  • -- No. We haven't. Since we are saving nazis at the moment, we will have to get creative with our dates.

PHYSICAL

  • How much do I weigh? Is that OK?
  • -- It's not okay. 2012 is the year for Jacob and I to get healthy. There are no excuses, it's time.

  • Do I have a Physical Scheduled between now and March 31?
  • -- No, I doubt I will do that. Sorry.

  • What‟s my major physical focus area for 2012?
  • -- Lifestyle change. Not fads.

FINANCIAL

  • Are my finances in order?
  • -- We are working on it. Let's just say we're more in order than we were yesterday! :)

  • Do I have debt beyond my mortgage?
  • -- haha! We're working on getting a mortgage.

  • Am I stuck in a weird mortgage?
  • -- I would give my pinky toe for a "weird" mortgage.

  • Should I make a year end sacrificial offering to my church?

INTELLECTUAL

  • What are my reading goals for 2012?
  • --Textbooks, textbooks, textbooks! :D

  • What am I most curious about? How am I going to answer that curiosity?
  • -- I'm curious about cooking. I'm going to learn more about that this year.

  • What seminars am I planning on attending this year?
  • -- I would love to attend BlogHer!  But for sure I will attend a couple of research seminars.

Our Story-My Number Two.

My God is number one in my life, and you are my number two.

Everyone has a story. This is OUR STORY, the love story of Jacob and Kylee Turner.

Before God gave me you:
I moved out of my parents house when I was 17. For the record, I was just about 18. My parents are amazing, and that is not the reason I moved out so quickly. I moved out of a small town in Northwest Oklahoma, VERY small town. I was in such a bad place. I was one wild high school kid. God bless my parents, they went through so much.

Anyways, I moved out of my parent's house and into a small apartment with a high school friend. I could tell within the first few weeks of living there, that I had mad a stupid decision (chalk that one up to many others). I could easily see that the friends I was surrounded by were not really my friends. They were just people that enjoyed drinking and acting stupid, just like me. I found a job and my life started to change pretty much on the spot. I met some really great people at the place I worked, two of them were in my wedding.

These friends reignited my passion for a God that I had forgotten about. I started seeing life in a new perspective. I began having genuine fun with good people, and enjoying this crazy awesome plan that Christ had for me.

My Number One Gave Me My Number Two:
My Sophomore year in college was a little rough. And then out of nowhere there was a tall, dark, handsome skinny guy that started showing up in my life. I can remember saying to myself and my friends, "I really don't think God wants me to date right now. I'm pretty sure I don't want or need a boyfriend."
HAHA! Doesn't God just love when you think you have it all figured out? He's all like, "pshh... come on, you crazy girl. Surprise here's a curveball you didn't expect."

But oh man, how great He is. It wasn't long and Jacob and I were making googly eyes at each other. I'm pretty sure we both knew that we were going to spend forever together, but we each used serious caution. We went to Barnes and Noble a lot for "sortof dates" and to Starbucks even more for "sortof Bible studies/sortof dates."

8 months later we were engaged. I was going into my Junior year in college at this time. I was 19, he was 22.

November 20, 2009: Our Wedding.
I actually hated our wedding day. It was so stressful for what it represented. I just wanted to be married to this man. I'm horribly unorganized and that showed on the wedding day. People were coming up to me and asking what they were supposed to be doing. A groomsman was incredibly late, the flower girl didn't make it for the pictures before the ceremony, and I hardly saw my mom. Looking back now, I would have done it all differently. But, we got married, and that's all that matters!

Now:
It's been nearly two years since we got married. I would love to tell you that it has been soo easy and fun, but that would be a bold-faced lie. There are phases that we will drift far from God, and realize that He is what binds us so closely. We've even said that we would be nearly incompatible had it not been for our shared love of Christ.

He shows us every single day the capacity of our love for one another and for Him.

Love Letter to Jacob:
Dear Handsome,
I love you so deeply it hurts sometimes.
I love you so genuinely that it's hard to express with words alone.
And I love you so much that my heart literally has to expand.
-You and Christ have all the love I have to give.
Sincerely,
Kylee

*This post will be a little more personal than normal. I promise this is not an every day thing.

Do you ever have those days when you are so overwhelmed with love for your spouse? I've been having one of those weeks. We have been praying about our living situation for a while now. The tip of the plan has started to form. In order to tell you this story correctly, I have to back-track a little.

Jake and I have been married for almost two years. In those two years we have lived in three different rental properties. I'm graduating in a few months, so we thought it would be a good time to start saving some moolah! You know, for a real house. We redid our budget and realized that it was pretty much impossible to save any amount of money when we pay such high rent.

This brings me to chapter 2. Josh, Jacob's brother, decided it was time that he bought a house. This was about a month and a half ago. So he moved in with us for what was supposed to be just a week or two. Well, it's now been a little longer than that, and we've all gotten "sortof" used to living with one another.

So, what's next? >>
Josh is buying a house now, and he's letting us live in his garage. He's redoing the garage of course, with insulation and a/c and heater and all that stuff.

Jacob and I are selling most of our belongings to move into our little garage...well apartment. We are going to be saving so much money, it will be great.

Does that mean that I don't have any worries? >> Haha! I have been worried about this for weeks now. But in that worry there is a serene calm as well. There's that comfort that only comes from God saying this is what we're supposed to be doing according to his plan for us.

The main point I'm getting to is that when your hubby has some crazy idea for you to move into his brother's garage--- you pray and you listen.

I have heard mostly negative responses to what we're doing. So, I'm asking you, blogosphere, do you have any GOOD experiences with living with your family members? I don't want any more negative ones, that won't help anything.

I would love to know....

Sincerely,
Kylee
