Bird Poop!

It's the pimple on prom night,
it's the speeding ticket when you're late,
NO, IT'S WORSE! IT'S MONDAY!

Mondays are the worst, can you agree? On Monday, I'm such a brat. I'm so not afraid to admit it. It's the day of the week that everything I put off last week catches up to me.

But you know what... it could be so so much worse. I have a roof over my head, well for the time being. I've got a wonderful husband and family, and I love this beautiful life God has given me.

It still doesn't keep me from being a brat. :P

After the day I had, I finally get to my car to head home and find this:

So, after being theoretically pooped on all day at work and school, I get to my car and find out that I WAS ACTUALLY POOPED ON!

I couldn't help but laugh. :)

Tell me about your Monday. Did you get pooped on?

Allow Me to Share the Education I Pay Lots of Money For: Week 1

I'm an Advertising major/Marketing minor at the University of Central Oklahoma. I'm going to share some relevant knowledge that I receive when I  pay $$ large amounts of money $$,
for your own personal gain.

This is a new series I’m going to be doing. I’m taking a class on digital and content marketing. We are required to write a post a week, so I’m going to try to make it relevant to my blog.
What I hope is to receive feedback.
I want to hear from you if you think that I strayed off topic or made a valid but somewhat stupid point. I would also love to hear if you found any of this helpful, or irrelevant.

We are reading “The New Rules of Marketing and PR” by David Meerman Scott. You can find this book on Amazon, HERE, or you can go and check out his blog, HERE.
The New Rules of Marketing and PR: How to Use News Releases, Blogs, Podcasting, Viral Marketing and Online Media to Reach Buyers Directly

This book is helpful because it covers a variety of different points on marketing an PR that are not just for large corporations.

Here’s why you should care and/or read this book:

1)   It’s relevant to us as consumers and potential business owners. If you are a blogger and expecting to make a business out of it, be it your content or even your Etsy shop, this is awesome knowledge. And I firmly suggest that you educate yourself on the current trends. Allow me to demonstrate it’s relevance:

Some of you are bloggers. Congratulations, if you have a blog and you post anything on it, you are now in the category of web leaders. Your opinion matters! Marketers are out to find you! They love that you have an opinion and aren’t afraid to share it.

2)   On a larger scale, if you have a business this book can help you understand direct customer content as increased brand value.

a.     WHOA! Did I just get a little crazy with my lingo? Sorry, let me explain. Let’s say you have an Etsy shop. How do you find customers? Do you put an ad in your local paper? Probably not, you’re going to go to the blogosphere, allow people to get to know you and your product, and in the end they may or may not buy your cute handmade jewelry.
b.     Marketing yourself as a brand (which is what we’re all doing) is a vital part of your success. Finding the right people at the right time can get overwhelming. But, here’s the good news, if you understand and educate yourself on the whole marketing process, it’s going to be easy as pie to sell your goodies.

I will be continuing this thought process for next week’s post. Please drop me a line, if what I’m saying is relevant or irrelevant to you.

THANKS!

Sincerely,
Kylee

Sweet Little Photo Swap- "Zoo Day"

We went to the zoo for my best friend's birthday.

And this is my best friend, Ashley. :)

I am really not a huge fan of fish, but they looked the best in the pics. :P

See, they have such colorful homes.

This one looks like goosebumps. lol...

Now, meerkats, they're stinkin' cool.

My Love.

I HAD to get a squished penny.

By the end of the day my dogs were barkin' (that means my feet hurt).

This weekend's finished project.

 $6 Garage Sale Trunk--Repainted. :)

I have many projects going at once. We are moving into a garage, so that's a whole lotta projects! Since we're moving into such a small space, we have had to sell a lot and realize how much of our current stuff can be put to use.
We have worked our tushies off this weekend, so I thought I would post about at least one thing that was fully accomplished.
Here's the only FINISHED project of the long weekend.

Our Story-My Number Two.

My God is number one in my life, and you are my number two.

Everyone has a story. This is OUR STORY, the love story of Jacob and Kylee Turner.

Before God gave me you:
I moved out of my parents house when I was 17. For the record, I was just about 18. My parents are amazing, and that is not the reason I moved out so quickly. I moved out of a small town in Northwest Oklahoma, VERY small town. I was in such a bad place. I was one wild high school kid. God bless my parents, they went through so much.

Anyways, I moved out of my parent's house and into a small apartment with a high school friend. I could tell within the first few weeks of living there, that I had mad a stupid decision (chalk that one up to many others). I could easily see that the friends I was surrounded by were not really my friends. They were just people that enjoyed drinking and acting stupid, just like me. I found a job and my life started to change pretty much on the spot. I met some really great people at the place I worked, two of them were in my wedding.

These friends reignited my passion for a God that I had forgotten about. I started seeing life in a new perspective. I began having genuine fun with good people, and enjoying this crazy awesome plan that Christ had for me.

My Number One Gave Me My Number Two:
My Sophomore year in college was a little rough. And then out of nowhere there was a tall, dark, handsome skinny guy that started showing up in my life. I can remember saying to myself and my friends, "I really don't think God wants me to date right now. I'm pretty sure I don't want or need a boyfriend."
HAHA! Doesn't God just love when you think you have it all figured out? He's all like, "pshh... come on, you crazy girl. Surprise here's a curveball you didn't expect."

But oh man, how great He is. It wasn't long and Jacob and I were making googly eyes at each other. I'm pretty sure we both knew that we were going to spend forever together, but we each used serious caution. We went to Barnes and Noble a lot for "sortof dates" and to Starbucks even more for "sortof Bible studies/sortof dates."

8 months later we were engaged. I was going into my Junior year in college at this time. I was 19, he was 22.

November 20, 2009: Our Wedding.
I actually hated our wedding day. It was so stressful for what it represented. I just wanted to be married to this man. I'm horribly unorganized and that showed on the wedding day. People were coming up to me and asking what they were supposed to be doing. A groomsman was incredibly late, the flower girl didn't make it for the pictures before the ceremony, and I hardly saw my mom. Looking back now, I would have done it all differently. But, we got married, and that's all that matters!

Now:
It's been nearly two years since we got married. I would love to tell you that it has been soo easy and fun, but that would be a bold-faced lie. There are phases that we will drift far from God, and realize that He is what binds us so closely. We've even said that we would be nearly incompatible had it not been for our shared love of Christ.

He shows us every single day the capacity of our love for one another and for Him.

Love Letter to Jacob:
Dear Handsome,
I love you so deeply it hurts sometimes.
I love you so genuinely that it's hard to express with words alone.
And I love you so much that my heart literally has to expand.
-You and Christ have all the love I have to give.
Sincerely,
Kylee
