Where's Waldo? -- Or Where's Janie?

Here's a fun question. Can you find Janie in this picture? Janie is our Maltese. She is white... with black eyes.
*She is not the black dog, that is Optimus.

Sweet Little Photo Swap- "Me-Time Monday"

Today is "Me-Time Monday". This is my schedule for the day.
10:00-10:50- class
11:00- "deadline day" at work.
2:00- Let the dogs out and do a couple of things around the house.
3:00-5:00- WHATEVER I WANT! I chose to come to starbucks, catch up on some blog reading, and read a little.

I'm pretty easy to please. Besides the necessities, I run off coffee and my computer. Ask my husband, I'm an addict to all things caffeinated and hard-drive oriented.

I have a confession-- I have had a big gulp's amount of coffee today. :-|

This is what I'm reading at the moment. It's a book written by my advisor at the newspaper and his father. So far it's really good! I will let you know when I finish it.

This is me enjoying this day! It's normally 104 degrees, today it's 98 degrees, and it feels like heaven!
That's pretty sad when you think 98 degrees is PURE BLISS!

*This post will be a little more personal than normal. I promise this is not an every day thing.

Do you ever have those days when you are so overwhelmed with love for your spouse? I've been having one of those weeks. We have been praying about our living situation for a while now. The tip of the plan has started to form. In order to tell you this story correctly, I have to back-track a little.

Jake and I have been married for almost two years. In those two years we have lived in three different rental properties. I'm graduating in a few months, so we thought it would be a good time to start saving some moolah! You know, for a real house. We redid our budget and realized that it was pretty much impossible to save any amount of money when we pay such high rent.

This brings me to chapter 2. Josh, Jacob's brother, decided it was time that he bought a house. This was about a month and a half ago. So he moved in with us for what was supposed to be just a week or two. Well, it's now been a little longer than that, and we've all gotten "sortof" used to living with one another.

So, what's next? >>
Josh is buying a house now, and he's letting us live in his garage. He's redoing the garage of course, with insulation and a/c and heater and all that stuff.

Jacob and I are selling most of our belongings to move into our little garage...well apartment. We are going to be saving so much money, it will be great.

Does that mean that I don't have any worries? >> Haha! I have been worried about this for weeks now. But in that worry there is a serene calm as well. There's that comfort that only comes from God saying this is what we're supposed to be doing according to his plan for us.

The main point I'm getting to is that when your hubby has some crazy idea for you to move into his brother's garage--- you pray and you listen.

I have heard mostly negative responses to what we're doing. So, I'm asking you, blogosphere, do you have any GOOD experiences with living with your family members? I don't want any more negative ones, that won't help anything.

I would love to know....

Sincerely,
Kylee

Garage Sale!-- A different method.

Jacob and I are moving... to a different house that is. Well, actually we're moving to a garage, but we'll talk of that later. We are selling most of our worldly possessions. Jacob had this great idea; instead of letting strangers into our house we decided to try and sell locally. We made a "Digital Garage Sale" for our friends and family. Here is an idea for your next pre-garage sale if you will.

*Note: I'm am not trying to sell these items online, it is only for your inspiration. :)

Sweet Little Photo Swap- My last first day of school, EVER!

Well it's my senior year in college. Graduation is so close, I can taste it! I just thought I would document my last first day of school. :-D
Here it is folks, The University of Central Oklahoma. (The backside of campus). I arrived here 30 minutes early just in case I can't find my class. Yes, I'm a senior and I still show up early in case I get lost.

This is where I work. The UCentral Newsroom. Pretty huh? All of those beautiful Macs make my heart swell. :)
This edition of the paper was 32 pages (4times our normal size). It's pretty much the reason why I'm sick and stressed. But man seeing this monster was the highlight of my day.

We have 5,000 copies to give to the students.

Well if you don't know this already, it's HOT here! Hotter than Satan's farts! So I started the day looking all cute and stuff and by the end of it I was sweating like a hooker in church. Top is the morning, and bottom is the afternoon.

Oh, and I went to class too. But I will spare the details of that fun stuff.

Yea, I'm "that" person at the store.

School starts tomorrow. I'm already a complete neurotic nut-job, but adding school to mix makes me even nuttier.

I waited until the last minute to get some school supplies. This is for two reasons: 1) I'm lazy, and (2) I've been in denial about school actually starting.

Well here it is, the day before school starts, and I can no longer live in denial. Last week was so stressful at work, that somehow I got myself sick. Fun stuff.

Anyways... back to how I'm a nut-job. I'm so particular about the most random things. (Things like Dr. Pepper, my seat, or how my towels are folded).

I'm very particular about "my notebook" which is my list, notes, to-do, homework, whatever notebook. I buy one of these hard-to-find notebooks once a semester. I absolutely revolve around this one notebook. So you can understand why I'm so particular, right? Needless to say, I had some guidelines I have for this book.
-It has to be a spiral.
-It has to fit in my purse, but not be pocket sized.
-It has to have at least 2 subjects.
-It must include a "pocket" for sheets of paper, folded sheets of paper.
-It can't have any type of planner-like characteristics, I hate planners. Why you ask? Because they tell me what to do. Lol...
Bonus:
-Would be nice if it were free of pictures of Justin Bieber on the cover.
-It would also be nice if it were cheap, but hey, I will pay for greatness.

So... this is why I'm "that" person at the store. On my quest to find the perfect "Note-book", I'm in my own world. I will stand in an isle for long periods of time with no concern for others. To top it all off, I'm sick, so I'm coughing and sneezing and people are fleeing away from me.

Now that I've confirmed my craziness, I should tell you that I found my perfect "note-book". Job. Well. Done.

Thirsty Thursday!-Week 5-Alamo Splash

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday! This week was the "Alamo Splash".

  • 1.5 oz. Tequila
  • 1.5 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 oz Orange Juice
  • A dash of Sprite or lemon-lime soda

Okay here's what I learned about the ingredients:
 1) Only get 100% de agave tequila, the other stuff is not as good. (It's mixed with food coloring and everclear type stuff). This information was given to me by the super helpful lady at the liquor store.
2) I really like tequila! I just had to say it.

Okay so the rating scale is on five different categories and a couple of open-ended questions. The categories are judged on a scale from 1-5. 1=terrible 2=bad 3=okay 4=good 5=awesome.

We have some new judges! Everyone, meet Brandon and Kaitlin. They are our "married couple friends" even though we knew them before they were married. :)

The average overall score: 3.65

  • Her overall score: 4.2
  • Quote: "Isaiight..."
  • Recommend? And to what celebrity?: Yes, to a Desperate Housewife. Probably like Bethany Willace

  • His overall score: 3.4

  • Recommend? And to what celebrity? "Yes, to Deb Messing."

  • My overall score: 4.8
  • Quote: "Did I mention I LOVE tequila? This drink was fun and totally drinkable."
  • Recommend? And to which celebrity? "Yes, to Taylor Swift wanting to party."

Well there you have it! I hope you guys want to make this drink too. I personally thought it was awesome.

Enjoy!

Awards, Awards! Here are the Winners...

It's my first month of blogging. It has been great! But, you can totally tell I am a noob. :)

I was so blessed by http://laci512.wordpress.com. She chose me and 6 other people for the "Versatile Blogger" award. I know right?! I've been battling the paparazzi all month now. :P

Thank you so much (laci512). I am so happy that you found my blog interesting.

Here's the rules of receiving this award:
1) Thank the person who gave you the award and link them back in your post.
2) Share 7 things about yourself.
3) Pass this award on to 7 recently discovered and deserving blogs.

Here goes, 7 things about myself:

1) I am HORRIBLY UNORGANIZED! I love to be productive, but my un-organization hinders that fact.

2) I'm a drinker. Not a partier, a drinker. I just like a good strong drink. Hints: Thirsty Thursday! :P

3) We live with my brother-in-law and two kids until we can afford to do otherwise. Oh yea, we live in a  2br duplex. That's 3 adults, 2 children, and 2 dogs. Here's a pic of my youngest niece.

4) I'm currently on a weight-loss journey. I have been for about 2 weeks now. HA... I'm currently 4 lbs. down! WOOT! I'm using www.myfitnesspal.com and it is awesome!

5) I have an analytical personality. I HAVE to know all the details before I believe mostly anything.

6) I'm addicted to www.stumbleupon.com it's a daily obsession.

7) I have a hard time getting too personal... can you tell? There's no underlying psychological problem, I would rather just observe.

The blogs I chose are ones that I feel truly deserve this award. They were entertaining, fun, and recently discovered. The funny thing is that most of these blogs are more discovered than my own. All of them, I'm pretty sure, have more followers than my own. But that's not the point, the point is that these blogs are awesome!
Here are the blogs I chose for the "Versatile Blogger" award:

1) Ace-Inspired at http://ace-inspired.blogspot.com/

2) My Taylor Dream

Photobucket

3) Awesomely Awkward

Sunday Funday-Sweet Little Photo Swap #2

This weekend, my wonderful hubby shot some pics of me for my blog stuff. These are pretty much the only pics taken this week, and I wanted to share. Jacob, my husband, does great work at making me look like a better version of myself! Tell me what you think! And watch for new design stuff using these pics.

I love the vintage white on this pic. It makes the necklace look totally rad.

This is just one of many cameras that are around our home.

I LOVE THE GRUNGE.

I like this one because of my sortof mohawk

And I like this one because of the nasty little lake. Oklahoma's lakes are red and muddy.

Enjoy!

Sincerely,
Kylee
